Open Minds Free Legal Clinic
Open Minds hosts a free Legal Clinic for people experiencing mental illness. This has been made possible via a partnership between Open Minds, Queensland Advocacy Incorporated (QAI) and the Queensland Public Interest Law Clearing House (QPILCH). The Legal Clinic provides free and confidential legal advice to people who experience mental illness who are accessing supports through an NGO or Queensland Health in the Brisbane region.
The Clinic is staffed by lawyers who are volunteering with QPILCH. The Clinic provides legal assistance in most areas of law except family and criminal law.

I encourage you to circulate the attached brochure within your organisation and to those you support. Please consider whether you are working alongside any clients who could benefit from free legal advice.
This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals with mental illness to receive free legal advice and support – many of whom may otherwise not be able to access such services.
If you have a client interested in accessing the Legal Clinic please encourage them to contact Open Minds on (07) 3896 4222 and speak with Marisa Tamakaha to book an appointment.
