What activities have received funding?

In previous rounds of funding, communities have responded creatively and innovatively to promote mental health and wellbeing. Resilient Places is capturing the learning’s from these activities in a Storytelling Project, using videography and social media, to share with the community. Visit http://resilientplaces.tumblr.com/ to view the sights and sounds in our Hats Off! blog.

What is the theme for Round 2 applications?

This current round encourages community groups and organisations to submit for projects or activities that will maintain or sustain community recovery efforts.

What type of activities can be funded?
Any activities or events that support local communities to promote good mental health, improve wellbeing and build understanding of resilience are eligible to apply for micro-grant funding.

Examples of the types of activities or events this may involve, but not limited to, are:

  • Establishment of support networks to build connectedness between vulnerable community groups and the broader community;
  • Outreach processes to inform and involve isolated community members with supports to enhance mental health and wellbeing;
  • Community events and festivals;
  • Community arts and cultural projects;
  • Sport, recreation, health and wellbeing projects;
  • Community forums and leadership groups to build emotional health and well being.

How are applications evaluated?

To ensure each application receives a fair assessment we employ the services of three reviewers, external to Queensland Alliance for Mental Health. Their impartiality is further strengthened by the use of a ranking system, assessed on the following criteria: the quality of the project description; the capacity to manage the project; the amount of people involved; the relevance of interventions; innovation and adding to community capacity.
